Publicity

Let's all share in the excitement and energy at First Parish and send it out into the community. What better way than to have more publicity? In all your projects and events, please think if there is a story and/or pictures you could send to Dee Lehner, and don't forget - bring your cameras with you

Missions, Goals

The Publicity Committee

  • receives requests to make the community aware of upcoming events at First Parish; collects full information on the event; writes or edits articles and gathers photos;
  • submits same to newspapers and local t.v. stations;
  • encourages the creation of posters and flyers to be circulated within the community.

Publicity for First Parish events

Every planned First Parish event that would benefit from being publicized in the community should follow these procedures:

  • Notify Publicity that the event is being planned, and provide the date of the event immediately.
  • Acquire the following information and provide it to Publicity:
  • Full and proper name of the event;
  • Description of event including as much interesting wording as possible;
  • Names of key people involved and their titles or a description of their involvement;
  • Location of event, date and time;
  • Pictures taken from prior years of the same event if any may be found;
  • Articles previously written from prior years, if available;
  • Any posters or flyers used from prior years;
  • Ask if the planning committee has a particular design in mind for posters/flyers - otherwise Publicity will create one;
  • Be available to provide further information and to review the articles written before they are sent to the media;
  • Solicit Committee members or other volunteers to assist in putting flyers in store windows.

Publicity Form

This form is designed to help publicize events at First Parish. Please complete the form and submit it by email, regular mail or fax to Dee Lehner. Please note the timeframe stated for each publication. We have added one week to write up, edit and get final approvals of facts etc. (articles may take longer). The sooner you get the completed form to us, the more efficient the process.
