First Parish is conveniently located in right on the town common in the seaside town of Cohasset.

Our buildings are historic properties dating to the colonial era with the charm of centuries of history combined with modern amenities.

We are a welcoming community providing an elegant venue for weddings, memorials, bar and bat mitzvah ceremonies, birthday parties, community events and concerts.

We will be delighted to work with you to accommodate your needs.

There is on-street parking all around the town common. Both buildings are handicapped accessible.

Meeting House

Built in 1747, our classic New England church offers an intimate and elegant setting for your once-in-a-lifetime event. The Meeting House seats guests on the ground and in the balcony. Over 200 people can be accommodated.

Musical instruments include a Steinway grand piano and a George Hutchings organ in the balcony, as well as an upright piano on the main floor. Tuning fees and use fees may be required.

The classic architecture of the Meeting House, its simple but elegant interior finishes, and its carved 18th century pulpit, it has become a popular location for weddings. It has even served as a location for a major Hollywood film.

Events can be livestreamed from the Meeting House, using our tech crew. To be sure our tech crew is available, at least two weeks notice is advisable.

Right across the street from the Meeting House is our Parish House, including our event venue, Trueblood Hall.

Trueblood Hall

Trueblood Hall, located in our Parish House, is a large function room that can be rented in conjunction with events in our Meeting House, or separately for functions and meetings.

Trueblood Hall has the capacity for 100 guests. The room is supported by a fully functioning kitchen with two ovens and associated facilities. Moveable tables and chairs provide flexible seating options. We have hosted everything from birthday parties to meditation retreats.

Trueblood Hall looks out onto an attractive deck. A nearby lawn and memorial garden make it an attractive location.

We are able to give discounts to registered 501(c) nonprofit organizations.
