Wedding services are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the love of two individuals who have chosen to come together in marriage.

We welcome weddings for First Parish members and immediate family, and for interfaith couples, atheist or non-theistic couples, and other religious liberals. To learn more about how our minister, Rev. Dan Harper, officiates at weddings, please see his website. If Dan is not available for your wedding, we have arrangements with several other Unitarian Universalist ministers in the area who can officiate.

Unitarian Universalist congregations and ministers joyfully bless marriages regardless of the gender(s) of the couple. Unitarian Universalists affirm the inherent worth and dignity of all people and have a long history of promoting equal rights of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ). All Unitarian Universalist ministers are happy to officiate at weddings for LGBTQ+ couples.

First Parish in Cohasset is fortunate to be able to offer its members a lovely wedding venue in the form of our meeting house. Built in 1747, this bright and cheerful building is an ideal setting for celebrating the joyous occasion of marriage. The Meeting House comfortably seats over 200 people.

Because of its beauty, historic character and location in a sea-side New England town, the First Parish Meeting House can be a lovely choice for those not affiliated with First Parish. If you are interested, please see our facilities rental page for details.
