Wedding services are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the love of two individuals who have chosen to come together in marriage.

Because of our strong respect for each person’s beliefs and values, each wedding is custom-crafted with a couple to reflect their personal values and relationship. This respect and our flexibility enable Unitarian Universalist ministers to be skilled officiants for inter-faith weddings, atheist weddings, and for those with Unitarian Universalism’s diverse beliefs.

In addition to blessing heterosexual unions, Unitarian congregations and ministers joyfully bless same sex marriages. Unitarian Universalists affirm the inherent worth and dignity of all people and have a long history of promoting equal rights of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ).

First Parish in Cohasset is fortunate to be able to offer its members a lovely wedding venue in the form of our meeting house. Built in 1747, this bright and cheerful building is an ideal setting for celebrating the joyous occasion of marriage.

Because of its beauty, historic character and location in a lovely sea-side town, the First Parish meeting house has become a popular choice for those not affiliated with First Parish. The building is available for rental and if you are interested, please see our facilities rental page for details.
