First Parish welcomes Rev. Dan Harper on Aug. 1

On Monday, August 1, First Parish in Cohasset Unitarian Universalist will welcome the Reverend Dan Harper as its new minister. He will be in the pulpit in the First Parish Meetinghouse for regular Sunday worship services at 10:00 a.m., beginning September 11.

Beginning August 1, Dan’s office hours in the UU Parish House at 23 North Main Street, Cohasset, will be 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

Originally from New England, Dan has served in UU churches for more than 20 years. He was initially a Director of Religious Education at several churches in New England, and since his ordination in 2003, he has served both as a lead minister and as a Minister for Religious Education. He was the parish minister at the New Bedford UU Church from 2005 to 2009 and served as Associate Minister for Religious Education at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto from 2009 until his recent departure to return to New England.

Lay-led summer services continue in the First Parish Meetinghouse on historic Cohasset Common on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. through August. Check the First Parish website, www.firstparishcohasset.org, for upcoming service themes.
