Outreach Committee Fund

Our “share the plate” for April is designated to Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry (UUUM).

The UUUM is a non-sectarian, non-profit social justice organization that has its offices at the historic First Church in Roxbury - a Boston landmark. 

Their mission is to work across race and place to dismantle racism and white supremacy culture and to advance racial, social, and economic justice. 

The UUUM envisions a Greater Boston where all people live with freedom and dignity, and have equitable access to resources and opportunity to shape the present. 

A major component of the UUUM is the teen Roxbury Youth Program (RYP). The participants are given the opportunity to engage in creative workshops learning lifelong skills. They get help for scholarship applications, college applications, SAT help and job referrals. 

The RYP is key to developing leadership skills which result in positive change in their communities.
