Outreach Funds – Our Contributions Continue

Thanks to the generosity of all those who supported First Parish collections throughout January and February, we were able to send a check to Black Lives Unitarian Universalists in the amount of $1680. In addition, we had member contributions towards Ukraine Relief of $350, which was added to the $2000 provided from the Community Outreach Fund and wired to the Unitarian committee in Romania who support Ukrainian refugees. This group is close to the border and provides immediate assistance to refugees. The Outreach Committee received two applications for charitable support from members. The Consequence Forum, which is developing a young writers’ and artists’ project for students to offer their perspectives about the consequences of war and geopolitical violence, has received a $1000 grant from the Community Outreach Fund. In addition, this upcoming fall, End Hunger New England will receive a similar grant.

The Community Outreach Fund has also been used to send three other gifts: $2000 to World Kitchen, $2000 to Direct Relief to help with recovery from the Turkish/Syrian earthquakes, and $1000 to Wellspring in Hull.

We are thankful for your generosity every Sunday and for the wisdom of those who created the Community Outreach Fund.  The charitable works of First Parish continue to benefit our local and global communities!
