Outreach Message: Ukraine Thanks First Parish!

As reported by Margie Brown of the First Parish Outreach Committee:
Our congregation has been continuing to provide aid to Ukrainians affected by war. With the help of Member, Peter Sexton, First Parish has recently sent $4,000 to the Hungarian Unitarian Church which has been able to deliver aid to the nearby area of Odessa. Half of this aid comes from the First Parish Outreach Fund and half from personal donations.

In their most recent correspondence, the Hungarian UU Church states: “The 8th aid shipment of the Hungarian Unitarian Church and Providence Charity Organization was delivered on 7 – 10 March 2024 to Southern Ukraine. Together with the previous 10 shipments to Transcarpathia, Berehove, this was our 18th aid operation of this kind since the beginning of the war in 2022.

The transportation of the goods on this life-threatening route to southern Ukraine, Odessa and the town of Liubashivka (170 kilometers away from Odessa), was carried out again by our Ukrainian volunteer friends – Vladimir Skalsky and his wife Yulia (refugees from Odessa living in Cluj-Napoca).“

Please know that your support of our Outreach Program continues to give aid and comfort to those who really need it.
